How to keep a 4 year old happy in the studio? Give him confetti to throw around!
Always looking for new and fun themes for our portrait photography, this Confetti 'mini' session sure was a hit with Mr. 4.
He was a superstar in our Newmarket Studio.

Mr 4: Mum will we be coming back to see her again for more photos?
Mum: Why, did you love it?
Mr 4: Well I did throw hearts up, so it made me love her and that was so much fun! (Silence) Mum, did you hear me? Let me know when she wants me back.

I think it's safe to say he loved it!

How amazing does Miss Vena Cava look alongside this Pontiac Star Chief Catalina?!
I know!!
This Retro inspired Styled Shoot with Miss Vena Cava, who just recently was awarded Miss Tattoo Brisbane, was sooo much fun. A team of amazingly talented Brisbane Wedding Vendors came together to give this shoot life. The blue Pontiac from Esteem Classics was the perfect prop for our model on the grounds of Ocean View Winery. Showcasing this stunning...and I mean, stunning tea length dress from fabulous Brisbane Wedding Dress design house, Silver Sixpence, Miss Vena Cava rocked this look with flawless hair and makeup from Bella Brides. Perfectly matched to our retro brights theme, Coconut Earth Flowers added a great pop of colour to complete
the retro bride look. Adding a touch of cute fun is the wooden suitcase from Melrose Place Homewares.

Choosing the right sidekick for your big day // Brisbane Wedding Photographer

So, you’re in the midst of choosing your maid of honour – 'is there an easy way around this’ is what you’re probably thinking, because let’s face it, playing Russian Roulette with your friendships isn’t exactly the easiest task! I mean it’s good to know that you have the candidates to choose from, but how are you to know who is the right gal (or guy) to be your sidekick through your journey into married life!
Modern day wedding etiquette has allowed us to banish the necessity of having baby sis stand next to us on our big day. Your maid of honour should be your partner in crime (provided they have their head screwed on and can be rational in helping you plan). Though if little sis does fit this glass slipper and is your number one rock, then by all means have her by your side. There’s nothing worse than choosing someone who isn’t very helpful and can’t handle those bridezilla moments!

You’ve probably got the perfect honey in mind, but wait, there are other things you need to consider as it’s not all about your relationship. You must also consider their personal position! Now there is nothing wrong with choosing mum or even your own daughter though they may not be in the position to do so. Your mum for instance will have other shoes to fill – she may be in charge of those special mumma callings. Baby sis may have just welcomed your new nephew in to the world and your best friend may have recently taken on a big move and can only be there for the day itself. It’s not always about the bride (unfortunately) so make sure that you take in the possibility that your potential maid of honour could be in a position that doesn’t allow her to fill such big shoes.

Now remember, this is your wedding, and you are not obliged to choose anyone in particular. Even if they have previously chosen you as their maid of honour, or brides maid. It wouldn’t make sense to choose your BFF of last decade if she is in fact no longer your BFF, even if you did stand next to her on her big day. It is undeniable that relationships not only evolve but each and every person differs in what they can bring to the table, and as adults your girls will understand that. Getting back to modern day wedding etiquette, no one said you could only have one maid of honour. Splitting the duties amongst your maids will not only keep everyone happy but it may allow you to still have your little sis (who is a new mother) as your maid of honour, taking some of the pressure off of her shoulders. Delegating special tasks to each of your bridesmaids will assure them that they all have a special place in the heart of your wedding party.
Who you decide to have by you side requires a lot of contemplation, it would be a shame to be filled with regret on your decision half way through planning your wedding. Having to approach the situation may put more of a strain on your relationship than not asking them to be your maid of honour in the first place. This is the biggest day of your life so make sure your certain who you choose to be your maid of honour will not only be there for your big day, but also through your journey as a wife.

Confetti 'mini' session

Picture
It's not often your allowed to just throw things around to make a mess, but that's exactly what we are encouraging in the studio and don't they just LOVE it!
A 'mini' session all about expressions and having fun!
Miss 'R' {4 years} was the first to try out our new 'mini' session theme in our Brisbane portrait studio and I think it pretty safe to say she approves.
